Travel with a worthy cause this December as we bring you on a fulfilling journey to Danang, Vietnam.
For the children in Danang, education is a much treasured gift. Many of them have no access to education because of the lack of such facility in their villages. Some will travel by foot to another village and stand outside the classrooms, hoping that the school can accept them. This is how much they yearn to go to school.
This December, embark on a meaningful journey with us as we bring you to the villages in Duy Thanh/Nghia/Hai, Danang, to assist in the construction of mobile libraries and schools, painting and furnishing them with proper furniture and books. We also hope to improve their standards of the English Language and facilitate the learning of Science, Math and basic hygiene through interesting games, role-plays and demonstrations.
This is our 3rd year collaborating with Global Village Foundation (http://www.globalvillagefoundation.org//). As a service-learning Youth Expedition Project, we will also be immersing ourselves in the rich Vietnamese culture through interactions with the locals and hands-on activities such as the ploughing of rice fields and cooking of traditional Vietnamese dishes.
We will be heading to Danang straight after our examinations, which means we would need to work on it starting in late August. The actual expedition will be around 18 days and the projected cost would be $500 per person, depending on the funding that we will be receiving.
If you are aspiring to inspire dreams, step forward now to volunteer yourself for this worthy cause. Kindly fill up the details in the registration form here, and send it back to us at desdanang08@gmail.com before 20 August 2008, 1 pm (Wednesday). Interviews will be conducted to shortlist the participants and to find out more about you. Any queries can also be directed at the email address or you can choose to talk to us through our contact numbers.
We await your earnest reply. (=
